Pre Season Rebuild

After the 2019 karting season had ended, my dad and I decided to do a full strip down and rebuild of my go-kart.

We started off by spending around about 2 hours taking apart the kart which meant everything had to come off like the engine, brakes, floor ,pedals all ancillaries, the side pods, everything; as you can tell it was a pretty mammoth task.

Then when my dad was on his way to work, he sent the engine and the chassis to the tyro rebuilder (Adrian) so he could Dyno our engine and straighten the chassis ready for it to be rebuilt.

Whilst that was happening, we took all of the loose parts that we had onto the patio to jet wash and clean each individual part to get them as prestigious as possible. This task took about 1 hour and 45 minutes on its own.

Then, we took all of the parts into the porch and began the lengthy project of the rebuild which my dad put a shift in and rebuilt it in only 5 hours!

Finally, we fired it up and the kart was as good as new and was most importantly was ready for the start of the 2020 season.

I would like to say a huge thank you to my dad who spent hours upon hours to fully strip and rebuild the kart just so I had the ability to race. This means the world to me so I think he deserves a massive thank you.
